I found a neck tag on the floor this morning.
Several, actually.
Those little squares of stitched agitation had clearly done too much. For someone in my house, that tag was a sensory crime—the moment a "standard feature" stopped being a label and started being a MAJOR distraction.
That’s why we’re here.
Office Hours is a digital space for reflection, noticing, and thinking out loud. We get into the petty details. It’s the kind of conversation you have in the hallway after a lecture, or a meeting that could've been an email.
The Syllabus
In the academic world, office hours are where the necessary questions get asked. Not "Can you curb my C grade to an A?" but the messy ones. The ones that don’t have a definitive answer.
For Petty Professor, this is our version of that cracked-open door. It’s a room with soft light, comfortable chairs, and time to think about things that make you go hmm 🤔.
We’ll be sharing "lessons you can wear" and field notes from the Cozy Rebellion—the movement that resists the hidden tax of participation (aka discomfort).
Expect to find us unpacking:
- -Sensory-Inclusive Design: What it is and what it isn't.
- -Cultural Fluency: The context, humor, and "unwritten rules".
- -Executive Functioning: Exploring how we move from overstimulated to regulated.
- -Cozy Tools: Exploring accessories that help us ground and stay present.
Pull Up a Chair (or a pillow)
We’ll show up when we have something worth sharing. That might be once a week; it might be once a month.
